Limitations

  • Produces a range, not a guaranteed valuation.
  • Condition, accident history, demand, and local market affect the final sale price.
  • Identify the source, date, currency, and sample size of any market data used.
  • When reliable market data is unavailable, use the manual comparison worksheet instead of inventing a price.

How Honda Depreciation and Resale Value Estimator Works

The Honda Depreciation and Resale Value Estimator produces an estimated low/high resale value range—not a guaranteed valuation. It accepts market, Honda model, model year, trim, mileage, condition, and an optional base price, plus comparable listings for market grounding.

If reliable market data is unavailable, the tool offers a manual comparison worksheet instead of inventing a price. Condition, accident history, demand, and local market all affect the final sale price.

Calculation and Formula

How the estimate is built

A base resale percentage is applied to the base price, adjusted for age, mileage, and condition:

Estimated value = base price × base resale % × condition factor − mileage penalty

A low and high bound are produced by applying a small adjustment around the central estimate. Mileage above roughly 12,000 miles per year incurs a penalty; better condition adds a credit, poorer condition a deduction.
