How Honda Wheel Fitment Calculator Works
The Honda Wheel Fitment Calculator compares stock and proposed wheel specifications—diameter, width, offset, bolt pattern, center bore, and tire size—and estimates inner/outer position changes and tire diameter difference.
It flags mismatched bolt patterns and missing data, but does not declare a setup safe. Brake clearance, load rating, suspension clearance, lug hardware, and manufacturer requirements need independent verification.
Calculation and Formula
How fitment changes are calculated
Width difference in millimetres (1 inch = 25.4 mm) and the difference in offset determine how the inner and outer wheel edges move:
Inner edge change = (width difference ÷ 2) − offset difference
Outer edge change = (width difference ÷ 2) + offset difference
A more positive offset moves the wheel inward; a wider wheel with the same offset moves both edges outward.
Tire diameter
When a tire size is supplied, the calculator compares the tire diameter difference and estimates the theoretical ground-clearance change as half the diameter difference.
Flags
- Bolt pattern mismatch
- Center bore mismatch
- Tire diameter difference over 3%
- Large inner or outer edge movement
Flags indicate things to check, not a safety verdict. Always have a qualified wheel/tire professional verify fitment before installation.
Frequently Asked Questions
1. Is this a safety approval?
No. It estimates position and clearance only; it does not declare a setup safe.
2. What does offset mean?
Offset is the distance from the wheel’s centerline to the mounting surface, in millimetres.
3. What if bolt patterns differ?
A mismatch is flagged; do not force fitment without professional advice.
4. Can I download the report?
Yes. Use the CSV download button or print the fitment report.
5. Are spacers accounted for?
You can enter spacer thickness, but spacers change scrub radius and may need longer bolts.
6. Is this Honda-specific?
It works for any vehicle but is branded for Honda owners.
7. Can I print it?
Yes. Use the print button in the tool.
8. What units are used?
Inches for diameter and width; millimetres for offset and center bore.
